Ellen Annie King bc 1860 -1862

1881 - Reg: 11/138 5 3 -

I am hoping the 1881 is her, as 12 Little Marylebone St, is just to close to where he soon to be husband is living in 1881 at 2 Little Marylebone St.

The marriage certificate details are as follows:

Wife: Ellen Annie King
Age: 21 years
Condition: Spinster
Residence: 17 Nottingham Place
Fathers name: Edward King - Deceased - General Dealer

The 1881 reference you have doesn't look terribly promising to me, as that Ellen (b Marylebone) is a daughter of George King, ladies' shoemaker which does not tie in with your Ellen's marriage certificate.

I would have thought that a better candidate for your Ellen in 1881 is at RG11/141/59/22 - a 23 yr old Paddington-born lodger/servant

I had not found that death notice before, but it certainly fits the picture. Hopefully it may uncover a little more information.

I have a little more information re my grt grt grandmother - Ellen Annie Elliott (nee King)
1911 census - shows her still living in Lambeth & born in Paddington in 1860

I was hoping someone may be able to do a birth lookup for:

KING    Annie Ellen         Kensington    1a   3

Fingers crossed her father is called Edward King

Unfortunately nobody has access to information on a birth certificate without purchasing it.   They cost £7 and you can specify that you only want it if the father is called Edward.  You would need the full reference - ie including the quarter and year it was registered.  June 1860.   A better bet at this stage might be an 1861 census look up.

I did try 1861 but there are far too many of them.  This is a difficult one.
