I came across this page when researching a letter I have from a Thomas Kneeshaw headed Stokesley Jan 28 1832. It is addressed to a Mr Lee in Cornbr(ough) and concerns land rents, reclamation of land from flooding and general repairs. Overall it seems that Thomas is acting as agent to Mr Lee. I assume this is the same Thomas Kneeshaw you are interested in and if so I can send a transcript of the letter ( and scans of original letter if possible)

I have traced the famiy back to John Kneeshaw 1706. Pickering area in Yorkshire.

Welcome to Rootschat Pete.  :) 1706 is an impressive length of research.

Kathy's profile tells me that she hasn't been online since October 2013 so you might not get an answer from her but you never know! Fingers crossed that you do or perhaps someone else who is interested in the family will spot the post.

Thanks, yes it's a long shot.
I've been fortunate that the surname isn't too common. I believe that the tree I have put together is correct and I am now trying to prove it all!

I have not been online for a long while. You are correct. I lost the link and could not for the life of me remember the name of the chat... I would love more info on the Kneeshaw line. I went to England a couple of years ago and found Margaret Kneeshaw Pearson's grave, along with her husband and son.. All buried together in one plot.. is this common?
Thanks. I too had to go back and read the threads... Thanks to both of you for your help. Kneeshaw is an uncommon name. It helped that their son had it for a middle name.
