Margaret Kneeshaw-Stokesley
« on: Monday 22 December 08 23:45 GMT (UK) »
Hi. I am looking for a birth or baptism record for Margaret Kneeshaw born about 1810 in Stokesley, according to census records. I believe her father may be Thomas Kneeshaw, born about 1782 in Pickering. Margaret married John Pearson in the parish church in Acklam in 1837.
Thank you.
Kathy

The baptism record for Margaret gives Thomas's occupation as mercer and at Ann's it's mercer and grocer, sadly Ann was buried age 3 on 02 November 1815.

There are also baptisms for the children of Robert and Sarah Kneeshaw and Thomas's marriage if you're interested.

You're welcome :).

18 April 1808 St. Peter & St. Paul, Stokesley, Thomas Kneeshaw married Susanna Fawcett both of this Parish by licence. Witnesses: G. Kneeshaw, Mary Kneeshaw and Wm. Skelton.

there's also 18 July 1808: Mary Kneeshaw of this parish married Benjamin Adamson of Scarborough by licence. Witnesses: G.Kneeshaw, Thomas Adamson and Ann Kneeshaw.

I couldn't find a marriage in Stokesley for Robert & Sarah but plenty of children. Robert's occupation was watchmaker.

16 January 1815 Elizabeth daughter of Robert and Sarah Kneeshaw baptised (buried 18 January 1815)

01 November 1815 Elizabeth daughter of Robert & Sarah baptised

01 May 1817 William Smith son of Robert & Sarah baptised

03 February 1819 Richard son of Robert & Sarah baptised

21 March 1821 Amelia daughter of Robert & Sarah baptised

14 September 1823 Robert son of Robert & Sarah baptised

28 February 1825 Thomas son of Robert & Sarah baptised

27 February 1827 Geo. son of Robert & Sarah baptised

30 December 1828 Sarah Smith daughter of Robert & Sarah baptised. There's a note for this one that reads " 30 December 1828 Kneeshaw, Sarah Smith daughter of Robert & Sarah originally entered as Janethen altered"

30 July 1830 Margaret Ann daughter of Robert & Sarah baptised ( buried 29 March 1831 age 9 months)

06 January 1832 Joseph son of Robert & Sarah baptised.
If you would like me to look for anything else just let me know as I have Stokesley records on fiche.
Hope that helps.

Dear Barbara,
Thank you again. This is tremendously helpful. You mentioned having this on microfiche. Is it also on CD for purchase?
And MI:::: does that mean monument inscription or something else?
Kathy
