passport ship's captain England
« on: Monday 07 February 05 19:57 GMT (UK) »
I have the number of the passport of a relative who was a ship's captain in 1918. He was from Liverpool. Is there anywhere one can write to get the information which would have been on the passport application?

Falkyrn, thanks for the lead. Unfortunately it did not help. They directed me to Provi and I could not see where to go once I got there. Most of the parts I looked at you needed to be able to go in to look at microfiche. National Archivist has passports on their site, but you only enter the first three letters of the surname and then the computer takes you to where the name might be. They are not in alpha order and are handwritten with not much detail given. It would be very time consuming to go through year by year, not to mention costly.
