I'm now reminded of a couple more.....

When talking about someone who was mean with cash.....
There's no pockets in shrouds or You can't take it with you!

And recently a friend wasn't at all well. When I phoned to ask what was wrong she replied 'Oh I've got 'there's a lot of it about'

Love this thread - it makes me laugh a lot.

Geoff-E - my mother was so good at making up words to fit both people and situations that I would never have thought to check up one of her "specials" in a dictionary.  Just goes to show I should not doubt everything she ever said.

Another favourite - if brains were ink there wouldn't be enough there for a full stop!!!!

I've spent the afternoon with some very good friends, one of whom has recently had a new kitchen and bathroom installed.
