Boyce Family - Liverpool
« on: Friday 19 December 08 02:14 GMT (UK) »
Hi there - can anyone help me please.  I am trying to find some information out on the Boyce family, Fazakerley - liverpool.  All I can start with is Alfred Boyce who married a lady called Bridget Maher probably married in around 1920.  I have managed to trace my own family back to 1630 thanks to this forum so, as I surprise I am trying to trace my partners for him.

Thanks for any help you can give me

Hello caroleg

The marriage is on freebmd
Mar 1928  W.Derby    8b   543
Boyce    Alfred    Maher    Brigid

and also on Lancsbmd  http://www.rootschat.com/links/0540/ - you can print off a form from here to order the cert, which would be the best next step

Once you know their ages, and father's names and occupations, you'll be able to get further back

Kind regards
Barbara

Hi Carole,

There are a few possibles in the 1901 census, but without ages or fathers' names not sure which they'd be. It looks possible that Brigid may have been born Ireland. If you get the cert, please come back and post the details and we'll be able to help you further

Kind regards,
Barbara

Hi Barbara, looks like you may be right.  Have just spoken to my partner and he knew he had Irish relatives but thought that maybe they were on His Grandfather Boyce's side.  Now he thinks that it is a strong possibility that they are on his Grandmother Brigids side.  He has a vague recollection of a connection in the Cork area.  Looks like they may have come over to Liverpool as my own parents did.
What ever details I find I will definitely post them as due to this site I have been able to trace all my own family back to early 17th century which is amazing.

Many thanks to you Barbara  :)
