Wow, Kerry  :)

I've just found my Peacocks - last heard of in St Pancras in 1901

They've moved to Sussex and my first cousin twice removed is a widow running an hotel - and I've found lots of other cousins there as well so..................any Peacocks in your area, tell them to get in touch!

Gadget

At last Gadget has links with Sussex  ;) ;D

I know that hotel and I am sure I was at school with a Peacock

I'm hoping we'll get East Yorkshire before the test stops. What do you think? Is it very likely?  ???

I have no  experience of testing new sites, and was really grateful to be invited to join (I have only had access since yesterday).

I think where we find errors of Transcriptions for them, the units we used should be credited back to us. :-\

The rellie I was looking for had been mis-transcribed.
I expected to see her with her brother,  he shared the same birth place, year and name with six others, so I  used my units up until I found him, and there she was.

I know we are saving  other people wasting money when the site goes live by doing these corrections, but we are paying the full rate to do this for them.

I am still very grateful for the opportunity, when others haven't been so lucky though.

I'm trying to resist going off on tangents, but it's difficult! So far I've only looked at one record and trying to deduce what information I can from search results, although I'm very tempted to look at a transcription of a 2G aunt's family. Thought I'd look at birth records but I think there are two families with the same surname in the area.

I just found a good way of getting information from the search results. I'm trying to find children born between 1901 and 1911 to said 2G aunt, so I put her name in the box at the bottom where you enter another household member. Now I have a list of people who are living with her, giving me the names of her children without using up credits :) (although oddly, one of them does not have a first name - but given the birth year she's on the 1901 with her name).

I already knew my great grandad was a brass polisher, but more information was forthcoming on the form:  "Industry or Service with which worker is connected", and he has written, "Bedsteads".

Oh joy!  He actually was a Bedstead Knob Polisher !!!  That's made my Christmas.

have just viewed 2 original images which i know to be mine and cost 30 credits each so £6.95 as that was ther package i purchased.
have found my Grandad had two siblings who have died - didn't know that before  :'(
am debating on whether to purchase more credits or not , like i said beofre i havent looked for anyone i don't know is there!
i mean i already know these peoples address occupations etc and family members

finding other people might prove costly
