I'm also one of the great unwashed :'(

Do you already have to subscribe to FindMyPast to get the email?  I'm only registered for 1911 updates.

I just registered for updates - my email from them was in my spam box ;D

Rosie

Same here - and I found the search facility very lacking - it couldn't find any of my grandparent's family by name, and it didn't recognise the street address until I left the word "Road" off the end, and just used the district name and the first word of the road in the advanced search.  No mistranscriptions, though.

RIP 1949-10th January 2013

Best Wishes,  Nick.

I was so excited when I got my e-mail :D :D

To make matters even better, I found my Grandfather and Great Grandfather on the first attempt.  Gr Grandad ran away to America in 1912 and could not be found on any US census until his death in 1932.  He was a bit of a rogue and I was certain he would be hiding in 1911 so I was really excited to find him.

He moved to London in 1907 and none of the family ever knew where he and my grandfather lived (Grandad refused to discuss anything about his father) and now for the first time we know where he was :D :D

I then went on to find 4 other relatives so it was money well spent for me and I cant wait for the whole thing to be released.

This was an early Christmas present for me ;D

Hi

Yessss,  got my email link today.  Boo Hoo - not one county I want to view.  I must say though, its a bit pricey  :o

Has it been officially confirmed yet that ONLY Find my Past will get the 1911.  My Ancestry membership is due February, I want to renew for another year (the expensive one with any new updated records)  BUT will they have the 1911 when it eventually goes online - anyone know yet  ???

Joan

Sorry if someone has already posted the answer to this, but I can't see it.

Where on the site does it tell you all the counties presently searchable?  There are more than the original four but I can't see a list etc.

Thanks,

Selina

Re my above, I sent an e-mail to their 'problems' page. E-mail back; I am query number 3513. Hope to get back to me 3-4 days! If these are all errors, wow!
P.S. Not only was the one house missing, none of the surnames came up either, with or without first names.

Hi Selina  :)
When you go to the search dialogue, there's a drop down list for counties - most of them say 'coming soon'. The ones that are available are:

Thanks Gadget!

Think I am going to do a lot of searching over the next two days!

Not decided yet whether to buy credits this time, its a bit of a rush at this time of year.
