Oh dear...

I know I asked for the link, but now it's come to my attention that there may be legal problems with publishing it.

Sorry - perhaps you'd better re-amend.  Wouldn't want either you or Rootschat to get into trouble.

I think it's only supposed to be for a small minority to test it out first.
Hence the beta test name.

We wouldn't want it to go t**s up like the 1901 did ,would we  ;D

In this test mode, all that is there is London,Middx,Staffs and Wilts from what I can see.

We really musn't overload the site until they've tested it all out.

They say " The website itself is now close to completion, and we are inviting a small number of family historians to use the ‘beta’ site (the test version of the site) so that we can identify any problems and make improvements before the launch next year. "

Hi Carol

That's exactly what I meant by 'they just need to 'stager' the increase in use on the site so it doesn't fall over.'

'Fall over' is the 'technical term' for it going t**s up (or so my Network technician husband told me!  lol)

Hi all,
          is Stoke on trent covered??

Hi Tati & Hepburn

I don't know where those places are without looking it up so don't know if they're within in the realeased counties.

I emailed them about when other areas will become available & the reply is 'Other counties wont become available until the official launch in 2009 I'm afraid.'

I'm lucky my credits wont expire for a year   ;)
