Thought it sounded too good to be true.  Still, at least it's something.  Thanks, Stan, O wise one!

Thanks, Newf.

With them saying that they will be working well into 2009 scanning the remaining counties, I think that any hopes that the final version of the whole thing will be launched very early in 2009 are somewhat optimistic!!  :'(

Hi all - Help needed please  :D

Also, where on earth do I report it without having to tell them all about my age & location and whether I was expecting to find photographs of my ancestors? :P

Hi Tati - go to bottom of page "Contact us". (Loved the question about photographs!) I haven't any Herefordshire people so can't help on that.

Happy Christmas! I am now wrapping the meagre presents I managed to acquire in the limited shopping outings I managed between 1911 census sessions :o

Tati

Are you sure you've cleared all the boxes-I did the same thing and found that I'd left another name in the 'other person in the household' box'  :-[

I'm not used to websites holding on to what you typed in all the boxes hours before  ;D

Just a suggestion

Good luck

Carol

Tati,

Same for me!

No Joneses or Browns in Herefordshire either!! There must be an error somewhere - perhaps they forgot to upload the Herefordshire details!!

Surely someone will have alerted them by now?

Thanks Anna and Carol and Jill :D

Logging out and in again, clearing cache and all and I'm still not seeing anyone in Herefordshire either!

Whether I'm the first or the 1,000th to report it, I'm off to hit Contact us!

Merry Christmas all  :D

I had a very fruitful time searching Staffordshire for OHs family, even found out that for the first few weeks of her life, on of his gt aunts was called Phyllis, but by the time the birth was registered, she was Elsie!!  News to everyone.   his gt grandfather's brother is still missing, but according to gt gt grandfather's return all children are still alive, so he must be somewhere.  There are also quite a lot of children who died who we have no record of, so there is quite a lot to keep us going

My family are all in Essex, Scotland or Cumberland so I guess I'll just have to be patient (and Cumberland will be the last English County to be released  :()

Merry Christmas all  :D - hope the beta doesn't keep you all away from your families and friends for too long

Claire

One of my great aunts was born on 3rd April 1911. I hope she's on there! (although technically she shouldn't be).

Jill: You never know. They've added a lot to the database in just a few days (dozens of counties). That to me suggests that they've already done the transcribing (at least of many of the counties), and all they've had to do is upload everything.

I hope they haven't done everything in order though, or Yorkshire will be ages, although it might explain why Rutland is already available.
