Can somebody please DATE this photo?

Hello

I'm enquiring on behalf of another rellie of my husband's ...
We need to figure out the approximate date of this photo, but I have no idea who it could be (though it is a mystery CLELAND ancestor from Scotland - that's all we know).

If another larger/higher resolution scan is needed I'll ask and see if my rellie can rescan and send me another larger copy.

Hi Rachel...well, it's so small and indistinct that it's hard to see, but I'll take a swing at a date of late 1870s, maybe 1880ish.

Please ask for a 300 dpi scan in colour...that might help bring out some detail.

I would go along with China's dating estimate...probably late 70s.  If we could have  a bigger scan  in colour, that would be great    Also if there's anything on the back of the card, can we have a pic of that too, please?

Thanks for all your efforts in helping to date this photograph, and by restoring the photo 
I've asked my rellie to see if she can rescan it at a higher resolution - hopefully this will be possible!
But I'm sure the information and the retouched photograph will make her smile!
