Hello W.R. do you have any children of Charles & Elizabeth Lea? I'm doing a look up for a Frances Lea born Wrexham 1709. Parents Charles & Elizabeth born Shropshire. A long shot :P but you never know :-\

I am not aware as yet of any of the children of Charles and Elizabeth Lea being born in Wrexham.I found the following children born in Whitchurch  believed to be of Charles and Elizabeth;
John Baptised October 3rd 1691.
"Sam" Baptised April 14th 1694.
Thomas Baptised April 14th 1694.
Charles Baptised November 29th 1702.
Elizabeth Baptised August 12th 1705.
Of course whilst I have found these it does not rule out any others.

Hi there,
I have just come across a rellie who married into
Page-crofts from Shrewsbury Shropshire. Iam just now trying to find if there is any of the family still living there.

Hi,

My ancesters (Griffiths) born about 1790's are listed in the Districts of Daywell, Gobowen, or Whittington.  When researching deaths and marriages, they seem to be turning up in the District Oswestry, Denbigshire.  Were the boundaries changed in the early 1800's.  I can't seem to find any deaths or marriages in Daywell or Gobowen during that period.

Hi Wendy

I have Griffiths in the same area. Gobowen and Daywell were in the parish of Whittington, Shropshire. There weren't any boundary changes at that time. However, it might be worth checking out St Martins, Selattyn (both Shropshire)  and Chirk (in Denbighshire).

What are the names/dates that you are investigating?

Hi, Thanks for the reply

I have

Edward Griffiths b. 1767 Daywell (m. Ann ? 1793 Gobowen)

Children:
Edward Griffiths b. 1797 Whittington (m. Elizabeth Jones 1821 Whittington)
Mary Griffiths b. 1794 Daywell, Whittington d. 1796
William Griffiths b. 1799 Daywell, Whittington
John Griffiths b. 1802 Daywell, Whittington
George Edward Griffiths b . 1805 Daywell, Whittington
Robert Griffiths b. 1807 Daywell, Whittington

The reason I asked about the boundaries is that I can't find a lot of records in Daywell or Gobowen in the early to mid 1800's.  I thought that because Oswestry is so close to Daywell and I believe a bigger city that perhaps records were kept there.

I'm also hoping to find a tie between Robert Griffiths b. 1740 Daywell(m. Mary Lockley) and Edward Griffiths.  I believe Robert to be the father of Edward (b.1797).

I have a rellie- Annie BROOME born  c 1869 in "South Wales" but living with grandparents in Dawley from the age of 2.
Where might I expect her to have been born?
I think I may have a possible birth in Ludlow Sept 1869 6a 532. Could this be classed as South Wales?
I also have a possible marriage in Madeley Jun 1894  6a1195.
