...and I forgot to mention that I have lived in Shrewsbury for 41 years, so I'm definitely English, and not a bit of Welsh in me ;D ;D ;D

I was born about 15 miles from the Welsh border......suppose I could say that I'm about 2% Welsh ;D  Although, apart from two Shropshire lines, my family tree consists of ALL Montgomeryshire lines >:(

I love Shropshire :D

OOops!! Meant to say 1 Shropshire line and 1 Cheshire line :-[

....and while I'm reminiscing ..

Oswestry was always pronounced 'ozustree' and Gobowen 'gubowen' .................

and the Bailey Head in Oswestry  on a Wednesday with all the farmers in their green or tan rough tweed suits and leather spats or half leggings or whatever they were called and spitting out chewing tobacco  ;D

and the Odeon ?  (you queued by the side of Astons furniture shop) - saw Elvis in Blue Hawaii and Cliff in Summer Holiday there .

think I'd best go now before i spill some beans  ::) ::) ::)
