Connie's death info very useful, what was her married name? I will look for Gerald..

I would love to see those photographs. I have nothing from Ambrose's side of the family, again due probably to James's early death.

I intend going back to Kimberley to take better photographs of James and Lydia's grave. I will send those on also.

Let me know if there are any other graveyards worth searching. I carry a notebook with all churchyards of interest with me, so on my travels, if I get the chance I go and have a look. I get back to Nottinghamshire a couple of times a month....

You folks should also take a look at the will of William (IIRC) Trigg, a "Protestant gentleman" of Wexford, who died around 1866. He was a brush maker, with a shop on Main St. A grandson of his   married a relative of mine.

Thanks for the reply re William. Did he live on Main St Clonmel. Tipparary? Thomas did and had a neighbour Trigg possible relative. I can't get any info re thomas, or son Benjamin b Clonmel 1819 until he moves to Rotherham and is married there I will look into the Wexford angle. will try and find will of William.

No, he lived in Main St. Wexford.

His grandson, Thomas Devereaux, married Catherine Rochford, a sister of my g...grandmother. A brother, John Rochford of Ballysampson, was an executor of the will.
Trigg's great-grandson, Richard Devereaux, was born and baptized in Wexford on 18 March 1862.
I know William Trigg was a brush maker from directories published in the 1820s and 1840s.

Don't think William is a direct descendant of mine but I am sure he is a family member. There are very few Triggs in Ireland but ALL are brush and bellows makers. Seems unusual. Thanks for info.

Yes, seems certain that they were all related. But did you note the burial instructions in his will? This indicates that he was originally from the parish of Tintern, Co. Wexford. Griffith's valuation shows a Trigg there. Could be the origin of your Triggs?

Hi Wexflyer. I first saw your post last year, having started my research on the Trigg family from Waterford (Richard Trigg 1815 is the earliest I can go back to). I have found a lot out about the family that came to Sheffield ( Richard and Catherine Cutler)  but I also came across the will of William Trigg, brushmaker that you also posted (all my Triggs were brushmakers living in Waterford) and it seems likely William could be Richard Trigg's relative (not sure about father as I only know Richard had a brother or half brother called Benjamin who moved to Derbyshire, not a sister and William must have had a daughter who married a Devereaux).  William, I think, was born in 1781.  Would you know who William Trigg's daughter was? I am fascinated by William but only know he had brushmaking shops/factory and don't know how to find any other info on his family.  Thank you. I hope I've not already contacted you as I joined last year but not looked at it since, but can't see any messages.

Hi there - I just noticed your post. I did not seem to get a notification of it, which is unusual.

Anyway, regarding William Trigg:

Years ago I noticed a mention of him in a journal or book article. IIRC it was to the effect that his children appeared in both the Catholic and CofI parish registers. Can't remember where exactly I saw this reference.

In any case, William was married to Mary Culliton, and two of their children's baptisms appear in the Catholic registers, namely
- Elizabeth Triggs, bapt. 18-2-1810, and
- Thomas Triggs, bapt. 4-12-1812.

Either Elizabeth or another unknown daughter married Dr. Mathew Devereaux of Wexford.

Contrary to William's express wish, as stated in his will, he was not buried in Tintern. Instead, he is buried in Selskar Abbey, in Wexford town.
