Lookup Request - Marriage of Lily K Poultney Sept 1905

Can anyone tell me who Lily Kate Poultney married on freeBMD Northampton 3b 170?

Did she marry Robert James Osborne or Samuel Simons? I could not find any children with either name.

If you know the name of the church they married in - it's then possible to look up the parish record at the PRO

As you know some of the family members have you an inkling of where
they might have been living when married.

I have looked at Street Directories yet only 1928 and 1936 are
alphabetically indexed by Surname, yet a bit late for what you want.

Also wife would not have been in them earlier than when the 30 year old
women got the vote in the the beginning of the 20th Century.

If they is a choice I am going to go with Kate Simons as one is living in the town.

My Gran who is in her 90's does not know much about this part of the Poultney family. Grandad said to her one day driving past that's where these Poultney's live but they did not actually see them. 

Lily Kate Poultney was born freeBMD ref 3b 76 Northampton Mar 1877 & got married freeBMD ref 3b 170 sep 1905 Northampton.

I think they had a newsagent in the St.James area.

I am researching so many different branches at the moment and its become very addictive.

As always I do appreciate your help.

Maybe a look in the Street Directories would tie them down.

Both men are mentioned in the early 1900's but only Kate in 1936.

Going to Bedford for the day now car battery is charged. 
so maybe you could let us know how you get on.

Someone else may be able to help though sooner as there are plenty
of kind rootchatters here also.

      I am going with Robert James Osborne, as there is a birth for a William J Simons in 1914 in Northampton , mothers maiden name --Ridgway. Ada Ridgway was the other lady on the marriage index.

I think you may well be right there actually. I found an interesting birth on freeBMD in Sept 1906 3b 50 of a Jack Poultney Osborn. Wonder if that is somehow connected. I have also found a Robert James Osborn born in 1877 in Northampton. There may well be name variations on this one in freeBMD. thanks for your help, cheers Richard
