WWI Transcription Help Please

Hello

Can anyone help me transcribe themilitary records of my great grandfather, Michael Higgins. The regimental museum said he was wounded, but I can see anything on the records. I don't really want to bother them for the 7th time, as they are so busy.My relatives name was Michael Higgins, he was in the Border Regiment, Regiment Number: 14912. He was born about 1880 in Felling, Durham (in Gateshead).

The records were foud on ancestry.co.uk

Any help would be much grateful.

Are you aware that Ancestry have 2 index entries for Michael - one has 4 images but the other has 28 images

Have you checked all 32 images

Yes I have, just seen the seond entry lately about 2 weeks ago, but I can read any of them, I really want to find out what the Casulty Condct Report Sheet thing says, as this is what I want to find out.

Hello.

had a good look at the records- Seems he originally enlisted with the Durham Light Infantry but very quickly went to The Borders. Anyway it was common in WW1 for men who became sick or wounded to be posted to the Labour Corps. You can see this happened to your GG in Oct 1918. He appears to have suffered a severe case of piles around that time. In Oct 1918 the 7th Borders were involved in the breach of the Hindenberg line and the subsequent 'pursuit to the Selle'. He was transferred to an 'Area Employment Company' which would have been involved in salvage work behind the lines.

There are other entries which relate to postings and some minor discipline matters - I can translate them if you like.

Thanks David, that is great:) I don't know how you can read those records, you must have triple triple triple eyesight!!!! . I woundered how he was wounded?

What you be able to transcribe the punishments for me please if it is not to much for you, I don't want you using your time.

May be a temporary rank or a mistake in the pension record. Some interesting stuff in the limited info - POW's were made up into Labour Companies in the latter stages of the war.
