I've just noticed that there is a decriptance in the death date?? I'm hoping there isn't another Isabella Mcauthur Begley?? this was applied in May 1869 and I have her death as of jan 1869?? Now I'm really getting confused...
After John's death there were 3 occasions when Isabella applied for poor relief. The first was January 1859. She said her parents were dead and she applied on the grounds of Ill health and no earnings. She applied in Kilmorivay-Assume must be near Fort William. At that time her Uncle Angus McArthur (Think and not McDonald ?) was still alive. In her application she states and Inspector of Kilmorivay Workhouse met her on the canal bank and gave her 1 shilling and some refreshments, he said he'd pay her aliment when she was home with body of Clement McDonald to Brackllette?? 6 years ago. At that time James, Alex and John were soldiers and Archibald worked at the quay.
Second Application was again to Kilmorivay and was in May 1869. This tells us that she and John Begley were married for 32 yrs, by Father

in Paisley, states John Begley was born in Ireland . She states that James and Alex were born in Young Street but usual residence was 24 school Wynd and John was born in Neilston, he was a hammerman.
