hi ther, got the birth cert, the one gadget gave vol 08 page 514, but just checked my mothers wedding cert and it states her fathers name as william C Hendren, where as the 1901 birth cert just says william hendren.

have i sent for the correct birth cert do you think?

cheers

Hi James,

Meant to say :D  My husbands grandfather's birth reg, baptism all had the name William, yet when he married (twice) he had a middle name John, I noticed on his baptism that his godparent was John.  Another of my husbands ancestors converted to Catholicism and suddenly had a middle name of her godmother's first name.  Wonder if this is the case with William.

Hope you have a lovely Christmas.
