Hello John,
Thank you for your reply to my post. This gives me a place to search for my great grandparents graves.

Kindest regards,

Thank you for your post. Edward Byrne and Catherine McCabe were my great grandparents. On their sons marriage certificate it was stated that they lived in a place called BALLYQUILLANE. This was in 1896. His name was also Edward. I have no other information on them than that. I don't know if they came from there or if they were just living there at the time of Edward juniors marriage. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Kindest regards,

Nora

Hi John,
Thank you for those last two posts. As regards the Catherine Byrne living in Stradbally, I think if I can get her sons birth certificate I can find out if his father's name was Edward. Not that that is conclusive proof that she is my Catherine but it would give me a starting point.

Thomas is not a family name that I know of. As I know nothing about my grandfather's siblings (if indeed he had any) I cannot be sure. I have a Patrick (my father), his brothers Edward and John. It doesn't give me much to go on I know but I live in hope.

Thank you for your very kind efforts on my behalf. It is much appreciated.

Kindest regards,

Nora

a letter to fr jim in stradbally between your date of 1896 and 1901 census might show a death for edward --------or between 1901 and 1911 when catherine seemed to have died
fr jim o'connell p p   stradbally co laois  ( he has a parish secretary to look up the registers )
