Hi Landgirl & Suz,

I read the 1891  as Maria, not Mary, and the children's surnames as Ladroig or Lodroig  -  here's the image, you choose!

Barabara -it is definately maria

and possibly Ladvig ?

I wonder-if with the foreign accents the enumerator could understand what was being given as the name and age

Also wondered if the 1901 are the same Maria and fred??? Ages given misunderstood????

Could this be Albert in 1901

By the way - in 1901 Fred miller is a Boarder -not a lodger

there is a difference

a Boarder lived "as family" -took meals with the family etc

a lodger - didn't live as family - basically a place to sleep and  would only have meals as requested and paid for

Just looking at Albert's name in 1891

Think it starts La
then what looks like a "d" is not like the other "d"'s on the page

wondered if it could be "Lacverig" ???

Looks like Albert in 1901, Suz  :)

Don't know about the parents, I noticed the age difference, but Fred is given as single and listed below, whereas in 1891 he was head of family, possibly his son from an earlier marriage, as he should have been 58 in 1901??

Here's Albert's marriage from Yorkshire bmd:
