Hi Neil,
Yes, I do acknowledge that Catherine J. would be extremely young and that is why I hesitated to put up the information at all.

However the line of inquiry has lead to finding another Catherine J. Bolger as I have mentioned as a footnote to my posting above. This one was of a more suitable marrying age I guess. (b. 1866)

Then again, when Catherine Jane married Peter RADFORD, she was well into her 30's and the marriage did take place in the city area -Paddington, both of which circumstances support her  being one in the same!

Probably a red herring, Don't know ;D

Thanks Sue,

I agree you need to keep an open mind on these things.  I also found a different family tree with Catherine J Bolger, child of (1 of 11)  William Bolger and Mary Wynn.  They listed her marriage to Joseph Doyle.  If they were not  such distant rellies I would consider buying one or two transcriptions for confirmation.

Anyway I checked some of the cemetery references given and obtained some new data on Comries and Cussens so a net gain for me.

COLCUS  I think your Cussen/Jarvis should be Cussen/JERVOIS. going back a bit. Peter Cussen married Ellen Jervois 1/5/1808. daughter of Samuel Jervois and sister of my gt gm (3x) Elizabeth Jervois of Brade House, Leap. Cork. See Burkes Irish Family Records 1976 under Jervois.  I have a great deal of information on these people if interested.

Hi my name is Peter Brown and am related to Annie Strachan who married Samuel J Cussen. The son of Samuel J Cussen and Margaret Buckley of Coonabarabran. I am in the process of searching for any information/images etc that anyone would be willing to share relating to this family. I have so far acquired the marriage certificate for Samuel and Annie. And will also be obtaining their birth and death records in the near future. I have also managed to locate a local historian that has indicated that she may have some photo's etc that she is going to look through for me. I am putting our family tree together for my father who's grandfather was John James Strachan the brother of Annie Strachan. Hope to her from anyone and happy to exchange email addresses.

Hi,

Just a couple of snippets on a John Francis Bolger.

NSW Police Gazette 1872.
Week ending 6th March 1872.

A John Francis Bolger of Black Stump, Coolah near Coonabaraban reported on February 20th 1872 that a black horse had been stolen.  The markings were 2 over MH off shoulder, WL over C sideways with S C under near shoulder, W L under saddle near side, star, hind feet white.

It at least gives his residence  in 1872 as Black Stump.

1875 NSW PO Directory.
Bolger John, Innkeeper, Black Stump.

Regards
Gerry

Hello Peter
Can't really add much to your line apart from Sam who married Marg Buckley had a brother James b4.2.1877.  I still haven't gone any further back with Sam and Jane form Kinsale.  There has been a suggestion it was Jervois. I do have Sam and Jane's children's names and families. I am descended from Thomas.

Thank you for your reply Lorc.  I really can't be sure that the Jarvis' and Jervois' are the same (though I have suspected it).  Hence it is probably premature for me to be getting more info at this stage.  In fact I have been just reviewing my information about Samuel Cussen and I do not have any definitive documents which say he came from Kinsale - only Cork.  There was a Samuel Cussan who arrived in Aus. on the Orient in 1839 from Kinsale, but his parents were Patrick and Ellen Hungerford, wheras my Samuel's death cert says Thomas and Charlotte Jarvis.  I really don't have much on the family at all.
Anyway thanks for the offer and I shall definitely be contacting you if I find more information in the future.
Marimac :)

Marimac  Just as a matter of interest Hungerfords were half siblings to my 4th gt gfr Samuel Jervois and my 2xgt gmas sister Ellen md Peter Cussen. Worth considering.
