Hi Minnie
I am descended from Samuel Cussen who migrated to Australia.  I have a fair bit of info on his descendants , but little on his parents.  Would be happy to tell you what I know.

Hi Minnie,
I hope I am understanding correctly regarding Thomas & Charlotte.[Jarvis]

They married in Cork, but you have no evidence that they came here to Australia, only that their son Samuel did. Right ?
Now....
Samuel was born in Ireland in 1819 and came to Australia in 1837.

Samuel married Jane Sullivan daughter of Jeremiah  Sullivan[??? convict??]
Samuel married Margaret Buckley.

Samuel died 1894 Samuel and Jane had Thomas E. and Patrick

Samuel and Margaret had Samuel J.

There is a newspaper item from The Sydney Gazette in March 1830.

http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home

It says in effect..
The undermmentioned Prisoners have absconded.......etc.
Any person harbouring or employing them... etc.

One of the names listed is
CUSSEN, Thomas. Morley [ship of arrival] Labouer, Dublin five feet five and a quarter, light brown eyes, dark bown hair ruddy complexion. From No. 8 Iron Gang.

Now, it is a long shot, but could he be your Thomas?
We have found nothing of Charlotte in Aust. so far. Perhaps Thomas came unwillingly and alone.

Another convict was EDWARD CUSSEN. who got his Ticket of Leave in 1842.

http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home
also  shows....
A man by the name EDWARD CUSSEN married in Mudgee in 1854.  Samuel and Margaret,  also married at Mudgee. as did their son THOMAS

Dear Minnie and all.
I am COLIN FRACIS CUSSEN and live in Brisbane.

2. Charlotte Ellen Cussen
3. Samuel Jarvis Cussen
4. Patrick Cussen

Good morning
Seems as though you have run out of steam! I haven't!  Still waiting on replies about the descendants of Patrick (3rd son, 4th child) of Samuel and Jane (married in Maitland 1841). and of Jane Catherine (5th child, 2nd daughter).

My lineage is:
1. Samuel and Jane had 6 children - 1st was Thomas Emanuel Jarvis Cussen.
The rest I have listed in a previous e-mail.
2. Thomas married 1st time Martha DEAN and had one son
2nd time Sarah Jane BALL and had three children, John
                                       Samuel, Josephine and Patrick
3. John Samuel married Jane WHITTET in Mackay 1891. They had 7 children,
     youngest being Cecil Colin
4. Cecil Colin married Lilian Fanny THOMAS in Brisbane in 1930. They had 3
children, Colin Francis, James Joseph and Hazel Lilian
5. Colin Francis (self) married Deirdre Glenis GAULT in 1961. They had four
children, Paul, Philip, Catherine and Michael
6. Each of the four children is married. and there are children, only ONE
     granddaughter!

I really am keen! Primarily because time is running out!!

Not sure who you refer to as "running out of steam".  It is an unusual way to request further information from Chatters if that is your meaning.

From whom are you "still waiting  on replies...."?

Do you mean you are asking for guidance, research, ideas from this Forum community?

I have much informatin on his 6 chilren and their descendants.
Perhaps you can help.

Do you mean you DO have much or do you mean you do NOT have much?

It might be a good idea to start a new post under your own banner so that readers can clearly follow your request and help if possible.

Hi,
Does anyone know if Jane Catherine Cussen married a John Frances Bolger?  If so, does anyone know much about their descendants?  I am attempting to track down John Frances Bolger.

Cheers,

David

Hi David.
This marriage in NSW looks close.

In 1869 BOLGER John F to CUSSEN Jane M at Coonabarabran reg.2229

You can search here for descendants.
http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/cgi-bin/Index/IndexingOrder.cgi/search?event=births

I think the Catherine Jane you refer to above was John BOLGER's daughter, not wife.
BIRTH...

In 1875 BOLGER Catherine Jane father John Francis mother Jane at Coonabaarabran reg 10176

Sue

ADDING
Wonder if John F. SNR. died relatively young..
Death
1878  BOLGER  John F age 35 years died at Coonabaarabran registered  Coonabarabran  no. 5312
