I know very little of the story, but I don't think she was ever found.
The report describes her as a 'bright and attractive child' and '...it is feared that she was kidnapped.' They were looking for her in Germany & America.

I didn't know she existed before yesterday, at least now she has her rightful place on the family tree, & can be remembered.

Thank you again,

Betty

KiwiRose.
The American Historical newspapers seem to go way past 1900.Thats where ours stops on most of them.

I put this website  in the common room last night it gives all the free to view American websites all over America.

Not sure if this is the place to ask but ..... (mods please move if not)

Where could I look to track down my great aunt who reportedly died as a young child falling from a window.
(I do not have her death certificate and to date have not been able to track her down!)
Her family lived in Wallasey (Wirral)

I  am hoping your collective expertise can point me in another direction as at the moment I am in a cul de sac!!

Yesterday I went off to my local library to browse through A......y's Library Edition to find that Historical Newspapers does not appear to be included. What a disappointment. Is it only available on the World edition? How can I find out what else is not included in the Library edition?

Would Google News Archive be the only other free alternative for browsing  mainly California and Washington State 1900+?

Regards,

KiwiRose.

I 'discovered' the Gale Historical Newspapers (19th Century UK papers) website a few days ago and have been researching frantically........today I tried to log on to the site and discovered that I am 'forbidden'  :(     Perhaps I am not alone??

Hi

Just skimmed this thread,I too had the 'Gales newspapers' on a 'trial' basis, lost the log in procedure :-\
BUT this weekend whilst browsing my local library site found I could access them just using my library card number ;D. Found no end of useful snippets. That said I am on the Gold Coast in Queensland, where we do have an excellent library service, but it would be worth looking at your local library 's website. Some websites on offer you have to be in the library in order to access them, for free, the others, sat in your own comfy chair with a coffee!!  ;)
Cheers
