Must share news of my good fortune
« on: Saturday 05 February 05 23:52 GMT (UK) »
Today I received a very old photograph from my 86 year old Father which he had found in his `ditty box'
Miraculuously it has survived two world wars and umpteen removals to come safely to me from 1910.
The photograph, (which  is older than my Father)!, shows almost all of the family My Great Grandfather, GGrandMother and eight of their 21 children.

I cannot stop looking at it, its a small miracle that I can actually see my ancesters and I feel really privaleged.

The odd thing is all of the older girls have distinctly similar faces broad cheekbones square chins and large well spaced eyes under distinctive eyebrows which run in the family. Apart from the clothes and hair I could be staring at myself.

Even stranger is the realization that when looking at the older girls I find myself looking at the sterotypical image of my ideal partner ??

Earley,

How brilliant! Be sure to scan it ASAP and then you can share it with more of your relatives. I remember the feeling when I got a similar picture and was lucky enough to receive a key to each member of the family.

Great news, earley.
I think its pretty established in scientific circles that we do tend to look for attributes in our partners that are similar.
Someday I'll post a pic of my wife and you'll see what I mean! ;) ;D
