Hello
Is there anyone out there looking up these names from 1840 onwards in Whitehaven or Cleator?

My Trainor's lived in Cumberland in the whitehaven area.

William Trainor and his wife Catherine with their children.  They were there in the 1881 and 1891 census but then moved to the middlesbrough area.

Nicola.

I have Whitehaven Trainors who were mostly stone masons (but no William).

I have a Patrick Coan who married Elizabeth Convery in 1901.

I have a Ruth Donaghy/Donacky who married a William Dockerty around 1877.

Hello
I have Esther Trainor born approx 1846, married John Convery 1866 in Whitehaven, died 1893 Whitehaven, I think that she is daughter of a John Trainor. Any connections?
Frances

It sounds like there could be a connection.

I have John Trainor (1811 Ireland) married Elizabeth Straney (1817 Arrowthwaite) on 17 Nov 1837 Arrowthwaite (I have MCert).

Someone gave me much of the following, other stuff I got from FreeBMD but largely it is not verified .

Patrick 1838-1898 married Julia Ann Keeler
Hugh 1840 married Jane McCormick
Esther 1845
Michael 1846
Thomas 1852-1889 married Mary Todd
Eleanor 29 Aug 1855-1920 married Robert Denwood (my gg-gparents)
Catherine 3 Feb 1860

Hi Frances,

Apology for delayed response but only recently spotted your message, and it has taken me a little time to find some notes.

I have a Convery branch (perhaps twig is better) on my tree; namely Joseph Convery [b.1818 Maryport] who married my relative Mary McCourtie at Cockermouth in 1848.
I have a 'little' information about a Hewetson/McCourtie/Convery family group who migrated from Cumberland to Liverpool in the mid 1800s and also info on 3 Convery death's in Liverpool if of any interest.
