Burial in Hull?

Hi all, need help again     Just discovered that my dad may have been buried in Hull, I was always told that he was cremated and his ashes scattered, does anyone know how I can find out?
If anyone has access to the records, he died 08/08/1973 but there was an inquest that didn't end untill Nov 1973 so unsure when he would have been buried. His name was George Leonard Smith d.o.b 27/04/1946, he died in Hull infirmary.

The coroner can authorise the burial before the inquest, but the death cannot be registered until after the inquest verdict.

I have the inquest records and there is no mention of a burial taking place in those
but dont know if there would be

unfortunately not. I have had an email from hull council today stating that there is no record of
his burial so it looks as though it was a false lead. thanks though
