Thanks, Bosuns.  I think that might even be the source of those burials.

There is a CD available about the old mill at Clodock.  It is available from the present owners who are restoring the mill and its leat.  One of my ancestors - Thomas GRIFFITHS - owned it in the 1850s.  If you contact the pub - Cornewall Arms - across the road they should be able to point you in the right direction.

There is quite a bit of information here:

My partner's mum's family come from Clodock, and from the 1960's or earlier, the mill owner was Arthur Gwilliam. I understand he bought the mill. He married a lady called Florrie who we think was previously Williams or Miller.

My "mum in law" is Doris Donohue - formerly Williams. Most people from that area are Williams, and they tend to live quite long!  While we are all now living in Manchester UK, Doris's family still run the Cornwall Arms in Clodock.  Her family come from 2 local farms in the area - one called The Bilbo (yes as in Lord of the Rings, but well before JRR Tolkien), and The Platch (?).  I  will ask "mum in law" to give you more info. Interestingly, one branch of her family live in NZ.  I'll be in touch, or perhaps she will - she's not bad on the IT stuff!

Best of Luck with your search - Jenni
