Snaith/Cowick Baptisms - GOULDEN
« on: Tuesday 25 November 08 16:11 GMT (UK) »
If anybody out there has time and happens to be in Doncaster Archives or has access to this information somehow, I would be grateful for any help.  I am looking for the baptism of William Goulden - his birth year is not precise, unfortunately, ranging in the census from 1792 to 1796.  He gives his place of birth in the census as Cowick.  I think his mother may have been called Elizabeth (but need the baptism record to check!).  Any help will be gratefully appreciated.

That was quick - and looks hopeful!  Thank you.  I'm not sure where Thorganby is (as I'm in North Wales), but will look up.  He had, I think, brothers called John, Joseph and possibly also Isaac and George (not so sure about the latter two).  I suspect his mother's maiden name may have been Dimaline (or a variant of that).

John and George sound hopeful (starting to sound like the Beatles!).  Don't suppose any of them say the mother's maiden name??

Thank you for this.  Drax is near Snaith, so this definitely looks hopeful.  I will need to do some more work to see how everybody might be connected.  Life would be easier if every other woman was not called Elizabeth!  Thanks again.
