Aveyards - 1600s in Woodkirk/West Ardsley
« on: Monday 24 November 08 21:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,

I've got a Sarah Aveyard who was christened at Woodkirk/West Ardsley on 30 August 1761.

I know her father is John Aveyard and her mother is Ann Waring.

I also have her 12 siblings by name.

I'm wondering if anyone can go back to John and Ann's generation and possibly further back into the 1600s?

Thanks alot!

Familysearch.org has this marriage.....looks like the one you need....

John Aveyard to Ann Waring on 4th June 1759 at West Ardsley

There were at least 2 John Aveyards born approx 20 years before that marriage....

Baptism 12/6/1737 at Woodkirks, West Ardsley, father John Aveyard
Baptism 8/8/1731 at Woodkirks, West Ardsley, father John Aveyard

There is a record of a Ann Waring born 21/12/1735 at Calverley, father George Waring
Caverley is north west Leeds near Pudsey whilst East Ardsley is south west Leeds between Wakefield and Leeds so could be a possibility?
