Henry Porteous 1901 census COMPLETED
« on: Monday 24 November 08 20:57 GMT (UK) »
Could SKS assist with a look up 1901 census.

RG 13/4570 page 76
Redcar, Coatham
Henry Porteous age 22, single, a boarder, bricklayer, born Durham, Crook.

Index gives his name as Henry Partions age 22

Henry is the second entry on the page and the address where he was boarding must have been given on the previous page and not carried forward.  I am trying to establish where he was boarding and the name of the family he was boarding with.

Many thanks

Many thanks all - finger trouble I'm afraid - yes I did mean the 1901 census and have amended request accordingly.

Thanks for address - right person but not the folk I thought he would be boarding with - I was wondering how he met his future bride Annie Thompson, in 1881 Annie was with her widowed mother in Coatham.  I put two and two together and got the proverbial five.

Now wonder where Annie and her widowed mother were in 1901 - dozens of Ann / Annie Thompson 1901 census!!

Thanks for your help

Hi,

I have a one name study database (PORTEOUS) and therefore am always interested in any information on Porteous family members.

I have a Henry Bowes PORTEOUS married to Anne THOMPSON. I wonder whether you might share any information you have on Henry with me?

Many thanks,
Derek Porteous
