Thank you so much Tati, i had absoultly no clue as to where Warmfield was, as i also have relatives born in Saint Peter too, and wondered if they were close to each other as that would explain searches i have done, and managed to tie up with other relatives...

Thank you

Hi Shazzie.

Warmfield is about 4 miles from my home.
It.s on the A655 Normanton to Wakefield road, about 1/2 mile form Normanton boundary at the top of Pineapple hill.

Thank you David, I am thrilled that Warmfield is still around, I have found out that my gt gt gt gt gt gt gt  grandfather was born in Warmfield in 1744, and his son was born in the area of St peter, which i believe is not far away from Warmfield.

Thank you so much, its great to know it still exists, i will tell my great auntie tonight who is 83 that it is still around, she will want to go and visit it.

I too live next door to Warmfield.

Agbrigg, Heath, Kirkthorpe and Sharlston make up the Parish of Warmfield.

However, the township of Warmfield is Kirkthorpe and Heath; both being a rural setting.

Kirkthorpe is at the bottom of a steep hill surrounded by fields and common land. There is a community centre, a church (St Peter's) and 2 pubs (The Pineapple and The Plough). There used to be a small school with just 2 classrooms. I went to this school for a while and I remember it closing in the 1970's... it's quite derelict now

Heath
is a very expensive place to buy a house and neigbours Kirkthorpe!!

Hi,I lived at Kirkthorpe untill I got married aged 23, in 1957. I also went to "Warmfield British School" from 1938-1945. The infant teacher was Mrs Wilby who lived opposite the school in the bungalow which is still there. The other teacher was Mr Richard Herbert Senior who live at Crofton. I passed my scholarship at the age of 11 and went to Normanton Grammar School. But as money was very scarce I had to leave and went into mining.
There is a very nice photograph of St. Peters church for sale on ebay.It finishes in 16 hours time. Anyone interested, just put Normanton in and click go. DG.

two of my late aunties are on this photo and it was one of them that put this in the local paper, Geoff Wilbey may be on it as well, The Pineapple is under rebuild right now, to a private house I think.
