Does anyone live near East Allington....
« on: Tuesday 18 November 08 11:12 GMT (UK) »
.....and would be willing to photograph a grave stone for me, please?

I took a photo of it several years ago, but  can't read it properly,  and now I find myself with my Lovetts in a twist.

Thanks, Linda

Hi, the only East Allington I can find is in Devon not Lincolnshire.
Do you have the name correct or is there one in Lincolnshire?

I guess it must be - in the 1841 census, there was East and West Allington.

If you search for Allington at http://www.old-maps.co.uk/IndexMapPage2.aspx the East and West parts are marked on the 1892 map.
Don't cry because its over. Smile because it happened.

Yeah, that's the one!! Just north west of Grantham. Look forward to hearing from anyone who could check out the grave stone for me.

Many thanks,
Linda
