Hello, I just stumbled across this discussion and am hoping to get a copy of the 1814 Moss Census. Several years ago I stumbled across the online transcription "Blair Drummond Moss Census 1814." Now that I am a better researcher, I would like to see the original to see what other details I may be missing.
My 4th great grandparents, Alexander Gow and Elisabeth Buchanan, lived at #44 Kirk Lane. I descend from their youngest son, James Gow, who was born on 22 November 1801 in Kincardine. He married Christina Ferguson on 9 April 1831 in Callandar or Kincardine. They boarded the Commodore Preble from Greenock, Scotland, and arrived in New York, New York, on 2 June 1831. They made their way to Puslinch, Wellington County, Canada, where they had at least six children. Christina died sometime after 1842. James died about 1852.
My father did the Y-DNA test several years ago. His results indicate our paternal roots are McLaren. I would like to dive deeper into these DNA connections and see if I can uncover our McLaren roots. Autosomal DNA results do connection us with Alexander and Elisabeth's other children, so I know the line break or name change occurred in Scotland.
