HI JulioGeordio, I've just come across your post re Laurence Patrick Sheahan. He was my grandfather. Didn't know he was in the Irish Constabulary etc. although I remember my mum telling me he was a policeman for a while - I thought in London. Anyway, to be as brief as I can here's what I know. He married Honora Moylan and they had six children. My mother, Noreen, the eldest, was born in Fulham in 1914. I think the family moved back to Ireland for a while as my aunt (Margaret known as Kath) was born in Arklow about four years later. They eventually landed in Port Sunlight in Merseyside and the family was for a long time connected with Lever Bros, the soap manufacturers. The other children were Larry (killed in Beiruit during World War 2), Ted, died in the 70s, Jimmy, also died in the 70s and Mary, died in the 80s. My mother Noreen, the eldest, died last in November 2008 preceded by a month by Kath who still lived in Port Sunlight. As far as I know, most of Laurence's children worked for Lever Bros at some time. Noreen for 20+ years. Tragedy struck the family hard in 1933 when Laurence died in a fire on board a ship anchored in Bromborough docks. The story goes that he escaped but went back in to save a mate and never came out again. My aunt Kath had a certificate commemorating his bravery. The widowed family suffered much hardship as you can imagine, and his wife Honora died in the mid 1950s. I think they are both buried in Bebington cemetery. Hope this helps, If there is anything else you want to know, please post. I'm intrigued to know what your connection is!! Regards ANDY
