Daisy is usually a pet name for Margaret.

It might be that Daisy is actually the daughter of a Phil(l)(i)p(s) son, and registered under her mother's surname.

Hi Suzic
I am not sure if you are still using the roots site or not but I am researching some of our family history in East Fife and believe we have a common ancestor through Catherine Philp who was living in kilconquhar and then moved to balcaskie estate. Our link is through one of her children thomas who is my husbands ggg grandfather.

Would be very interested to hear your information and what you know of the family.

Best wishes for 2020
Victoria

Interesting reading the various chats. I’m hoping Osprey 28 is still using the site? I’m directly related to Charles Philp and consequently Walter - his elder brother by 9 or 10 years and therefore also a distant cousin of Osprey. In London Charles married Ellen Baker at St Botolphs. Ellen was born in the Hampshire village of Broughton where I now live. They had 5 children before she died at the age of 44 in 1895.  Their second child John Henry was my Great Grandfather. Charles Philp (Marriage registration refer to as Philip) married his then housekeeper Janet Bryant and they had 4 children. The youngest being born in 1901 just three years before my Grandfather in 1904. Charles died in 1910.
John Henry - who reverted to Philp - had 5 children the eldest being my Grandfather, before being killed at The Somme in 1916.
Any history from Fife would be good to confirm as my tracing takes me back to Thomas Philp (b c.1688) & Catherine Dall (b c.1690) from Kennoway
