magner/magnier family fermoy co cork

hello everyone
wonder if someone can help me i.m trying to find out about the magner/magnier family who i know were in fermoy in 1873  well i.m saying there were as after 3 years of searching i have managed to find my gt gt granfather & grandmothers marriage cert this is what it says
WILLIAM LOWTH    aged 40   occ private 2/22 regiment
   married

JULIA MAGNIER       aged 23     occ   not recorded

  on

10th may 1873

 parish district of

 FERMOY
COUNTY CORK

address for both on marriage cert is FERMOY 

her father was  JOHN MAGNIER on the marriage cert occ laborer 
his father was GEORGE LOWTH on the marriage cert occ laborer

witnessed by
JOHN MAGNIER     &   JOHN MEYERS
marriage preformed by

(priest )   ARUNDEL HILL

i then went onto find julie.s birth cert & this is what is on there
JULIA MAGNER   (notice surname spelling change )
23rd march 1851
parish  KILLAVULLEN   co cork
donomation ROMAN CATHOLIC
father  JOHN MAGNER
mother  BRIDGET  DONOHOE
sponser/informant    CORNELIUS HEGARTY  & MARY KENNEDY

i would love more infomation on any of the above names ie census marriges or was there anymore children born to JOHN & BRIDGET MAGNER/MAGNIER  up to press i have spent a fortune on differant sites & am coming up with nothing could someone either try forr me or point me in the right direction without it costing me another small fortune

Civil registration of births began 1864- there are no birth certificates before that date. First complete census is 1901 (1901 and 1911 census records for Ireland will eventually be online free at National Archives, Dublin website).

Did they stay in Ireland? IGI lists 3 children to a William Lowth and Julia (no maiden name) but all 3 born in Lincolnshire, England.

i found the bith & marriage cert on a web site called the irish history foundation & i know its correct marriage as his father fits in with my rcords of my gt gt gt grandad george lowth  they married in ireland & then went to india where 3 children were born one of them been my gt grandad george henry  they returned to englad at some point & had more children this is as far as i can get on julia.s side but would to love more

Civil registration of births in Ireland started in 1864. The 1851 details you posted for Julia are from a baptismal record not a birth certificate (clue is alos in denomination Roman Catholic).

IGI has a birth for Hanorah Magner born 28 June 1866 Rahan district, Co. Cork, daughter of John Magner and Bridget Donohoe (who may or may not be Julia's sister)

thank you for that infomation i did not know that something else new i have learnt so until the census come out there is no sure way of finding out anything else about the magner family    aww well will just have to sit tight now until they do

i.m now going down the route to see if hanora magner was indeed the sister of julia magner i have found this & i think its the same person could anyone explain what it is & what it means & is there a website i could go to so i can find out what is on the head stone i found this on

Looks like a reference to a gravestone for Hanora Magner buried in Rahan Cemetery.

yes thats what i thought but just wondered if there was a way of finding out if there was a site with this cemertry on it saying what was on the headstone
