Hi Sue,

Was his mother's name Rebecca? Was he born in1892 in Iver?

If you google "treaty house" Uxbridge, there are loads of results.

I haven't looked further to locate the cottage but it may be worth trying to find mention of it here www.old-maps.co.uk once you locate Treaty House, as you would suppose it wouldn't be too far away  ;)

Good luck.

Sue,

Do you need the full 1901 census for the family, or do you already have it?

I found this on FreeBMD which looks promising:
Marriage March 1878
Bryant Joseph
Gibbs Rebecca
district AMersham
volume 3a
page 468

Purchasing the marriage certificate using the reference numbers will give both father's names/ occupations etc ....  ;D

I just looked at the 1861 census but couldn't locate Rebecca Gibbs. I found two joseph Bryants in Amersham born about 1859. One has parents Thomas and Eliza, the other has parents William and Esther. As Thomas and Rebecca use all these names for their children, you really need the marriage certificate to determine which are the correct parents of Joseph.
