Gravestone inscriptions- Carnmoney Parish Church look up please
« on: Sunday 12 October 08 10:47 BST (UK) »
Hello Lis,
Lucky you getting a copy of that book, Carved in Stone! I have tried for ages to get that!

If you would look up some of my family members who I know are buried there, I'd be very grateful indeed!

My SEATON great grandparents are both buried there, supposedly, as well as some PORTER and McCRACKEN and CORRY & LAIRD relations too!

So, here goes:

William J SEATON, died about 1910, aged abt 45.
Rebecca Jane SEATON, nee Read. Don't know if she died before William (her husband) or not. Rebecca was born 1870.

Joseph PORTER, born c.1863-9. Not sure when he died, but was still alive in 1912. (father was James)
Mary PORTER (nee cFall). Possibly died abt 1900-3, in childbirth. Born abt 1869.

James PORTER (an infant, abt 2-3yrs of age) Poss died about 1924-26. He was the son of Joseph PORTER and Mary Elizabeth SEATON. James or Jimmy was possibly buried with McCracken relations.

Eliza/Elizabeth McCRACKEN (nee Porter). Sister of Joseph Porter above, b.abt 1863-9. (father was James Porter)
Thomas (possibly) McCracken, husband of Eliza. Tom's father was Robert McCracken.

I haven't specified LAIRD or CORRY family members as I'm sure there would be lots of them! Way too much to ask you to look up at this stage!

Well, I'm looking forward to hearing from you and seeing what you find out about Carnmoney!

I'm putting my email address at bottom, for your use, if you'd rather send direct.

Kindest regards, Glynis Halliday, Western Australia
