Hello, I have recently started looking up my mothers side of my family as a birthday present to her. She has tried many times in the past, but has always come to a dead end as my Grandfather was born in Jamaica.
The information i have so far:
John McLennan was born 19/11/1911 in Kingston, Jamaica to William McLennan (Believed to have been born in Scotland and then emigrated to Jamaica), mother unknown. He had three brothers Donald, Vincent, and Michael (Half brother), and two sisters; Olive and Marjorie. At the age of 18 he left Jamaica to come to england (1929) as did his brother, Vincent (1952. Donald (1914 - 1997), Olive & Michael moved to America and Marjorie moved to Canada. The sibling i have the most information on is Donald. I know that he lived in Miami, Florida before the hurricane in 1992 and then moved to new york where he later passed away. Also on his death certificate it says that his SSN was issued in Conneticut (im not sure if this is any help)
I mainly want to trace the migration of my great grandfather and my grandfathers siblings to help me track down for information on them, but every search i do comes up blank.
Any help and information to find out more would be much appreciated.
