I have a couple of overhead photos of the Beehive Brae and the Dymocks buildings taken in 1931. Unfortunately the file size is to big to post on here.

The white building just above the chimney is the picture house “the Bazookie” to the right of it is the Craigneuk Emporium and some shops. Middle right is the back of the school. To the left of that school is Cowie Square.

Top left is the school the buildings to the right of the school going down the Brae are the Dymocks buildings. The tenements. You can see the wash houses at the back and the washing on the lines. Photos were taken in 1931.

It’s a little weird the way you have to move the photo up & down and right to left to see all of the photo!!

Think that is the two photos together now. Cropped and not the best quality.

A wee map giving you the layout of the Beehive Brae “Craigneuk Street” from the railway bridge on the left up the Brae to Era Bar on the right.

Fantastic pictures, well done. Do you have a picture of the Beehive pub?

Didn’t know there was a beehive pub. I see in was mentioned in an earlier post, I Will need to ask an old pal. He got into the Bazookie with a jam jar and also got and wait for it “a slice of turnip” lol  if there was a pub I suspect it must have been up beside the picture house possibly across the road. If I find out I will post it.
