Thank you all so much for all the photos - from a long way away it is fabulous to see the land of the forefathers (& mothers). You've made me wonder why my folks wanted to leave such a beautiful place

I usually shy away from meeting up with "strangers" but have been to both of the Glasgow Meets and can thoroughly recommend getting together with your wonderful, friendly and welcoming fellow Rootschatters  ;D

I had such a great time that I wish that I could do it all again this weekend too Val  ;D

Go for it and join us next time wherever it is!!!

I would absolutely love to - although some years ago I did fall in love with London, so not sure where I would best like to stay. Unfortunately under the current laws, I couldn't return permanently, but I do hope to return one day for a visit to all those places of my roots - see you then  8)

We can do the road trip from Paisley to Glasgow - probably a little faster than in 1833!

Big PS

Why does it have to be once a year?

I'd be very happy to do something much more often with you guys.

Maybe we should get away from calling it "The Glasgow Meet" or "The York Meet".

How about calling it "The UK Meet"?

Everybody is welcome, so maybe the title seems exclusive?

Dave

pps
sallysmum you can come too! :)

Here Here Dave , I totally agree and the mini meets,

Lucy I wish you had come along, I hope you do come to the next UK meet
I come up your way in the summer, next time I will give you a shout and let you know I will be up that way.

Now I know its fun all the way count me in.

I don't know what I was so scared of, everyone who I have met on here has been so nice, kind and helpful.

Im having a mini meet tonight...with myself of course!

Just want to add two more pics...the first was a little joke we had in Kelvingrove...as a rootschatter I felt compelled to leave a marker that we had all been there on the day!!

As the second piccie shows, we also just happened to walk into the Chess Championships!! Good thing I left my brain back here at home.

Matt :)

PS, the UK Meet rules!!
