Hi Carol
Thanks for the lookup. The John Penman can't be Martha's Husband as he was still living when she died in 1832. As for the Sommerville/Somerville clan I'll have to figure out who's who.

Eugene ;)

Hi Carol. I grew up in Dalkeith and now live in Canada. I wish I had been interested in genealogy when I lived there... I have researched my Lockhart family and have an enormous amount of information. I'm sure there will be Lockharts buried there - a high percentage of the men were miners. Thanks in advance.

Dear all,
Monica has just pointed me here after I posted a message about burials in Cockpen and Newbattle.
I'm looking for anybody of the name CARSE (CASS, CARSS, CARS, occasionally with a K) in the 17th and 18th centuries, in Newbattle of Cockpen. Most common first name is Mark, but there were the usual others (John, Janet, George..) Also Isobella Nicolson who died around 1711, Marion Fowls/Foulis dying probably later, and any association of Carse and Douglas.

Please can anybody help?
Best and Happy New Year,
Jenny

I have details on death certs for John Penman Wilson (d1858), Christina Muir Wilson, d1859 and Robert Wilson d 1860. All say buried in Newbattle churchyard. Are there any details on gravestones for Wilson family?

Douglas

Hi everyone and welcome to RootsChat if it is your first posting  :)

Just wanted to add a note that Carol (teesdale) has not been back online here on RootsChat since December 2011. Hopefully she will be back online here soon but she may not be receiving notifications about posting here (if, for example, she has changed her email or internet provider etc.).

Monica
