The address is definitely Addiwell. Strange thing is my Grandmother had a relative in Addiwell that I used to visit. Grandmother was Mary Perkins (nee Monaghan) lived in Carfin.

Regards Mary, Canada

Mcghee, my grandfather, Patrick Molloy lived in Livingston Street, Addiewell. He came from Crossmolina, Country Sligo, Ireland after WW1. There was an influx of workers from Ireland, Poland and the Baltics to work in the shale oil industry centred around West Lothian at that time. I think his brother, Tim Molloy may also have come over to Scotland from Ireland at the same time. Livingston Street was named after the explorer, David Livingston who was a friend of the family who owned to the shale industry in the area. The tenaments have been demolished now. As a child, I recall seeing them and I remember seeing grainy footage of a bonfire in Livingston Street celebrating the end of WW2 - my mother told me she remembered it. There are still many Molloy's living in and around the West Lothian area. I don't know if my grandfather lived at 70, Livingston Street but it seems very coincidental - same name, same street!

There is still a Livingstone Street in Addiewell today.

On the 1914 map it stopped at Addiewell Farm
