Broadband Providers
« on: Tuesday 11 November 08 17:06 GMT (UK) »
Hi

My broadband contract has just came to an end and am looking at changing provider would like some advice on what provider is the best to go with.  I am currently paying £19.99 a month for 8GB usage am quite often going over this usage and having to pay for the extra usage.  Going to take about 5 working days to get migration code didn't seem to happy to pass it on.

Sorry didn't know where to post this probably a website forum for this sort of inquiry but don't know where to look.

Thanks

Hi Gadget

Thank you for the link will check out the website.  Seems to be a bit of a minefield out there.  I had a broadband provider in mind but when i contacted my provider for the migration code they warned me that this company have a lot of hidden extras.  So i am completely lost again.  But will go and check out this site now.

Hi Gadget

Would have been OK but got totally confused by it all.  Are they relying on the fact that we won't be technically minded so that we stay with the same company.

There's a selection on the left had side of the home page which says something like 'Compare provders'.  If you click on that, you are able to check 6 at a time for comparison. I'd put in my own ISP and 5 others and repeat this with as many as needed.  Then narrow them down until you have just a few that are worth examining in detail.

Hi Ricky

Already with BT was looking at going away from them i quite often go over 10GB usage as well so this would be no good to me.  Have a teenage son who spends a lot of time on the internet.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Hi Gadget

Will have another look and see if i can make any more sense of it.

I'm also with BT in two locations and have unlimit on both.  I think it's about £21 per month and they give discounts for 'loyal customers'  ::) ::) ::)

Hi Gadget

I was just going to say the same about loyal customers with BT, cos my last contract I had with them was unlimited use for £19.99 a month, but I asked to be down graded as only use about 5 or 6 GB per month
