Hi Peter, great photo - a real corner shop!!  - I'm not a Londoner but hubby is, I moved to the East End from Sussex in 1970's and the street still had a corner shop at one end and a pub at the other.  I couldn't beleive the shop was still open until late in the evening and sold just about everything....a real eye opener; when I left my village we still had early closing on a Wednesday  ;D  and it's not all that long ago!

Hi

Great photo Peter. It has a very warm and historic London feel. It looks Victorian despite being taken in 1974.

Hi Peter, Wow thats a Great Photo, Thank You! If I remember rightly thats the Hanbury Street end of the Street? We was up the other end. My Dad remained in Brick Lane until he died in 2000.          Lesley

Hi

I have probably walked round there several times when I have been visiting that area. In the 1700s my French Huguenot ancestors were living there.

My Auber relatives lived at nearby Hope Street, Spitalfields in 1827.
