Hi

If you check freebmd there were only 2 births for that name in B'ham 1882-1889 and the entry for 1888 died in 1889

If you then look at the free 1901 index on the link below - there is no entry b Birmingam between ages 13-18

Where did you get your info from that they were his parents?

hi CaroleW
thanks for reply, i found my grandfathers brother who was sent to canada from barnados, he ended up joining the canadian army,
and was killed 1918 just before the war ended, i have obtained his army records thanks to  KAREN M, on the instructions to send his pay it say's send to my brother ernest barnes, so he must of had a brother,
called ernest

                             regards jake

The 1891 shows sons Henry 2 and Joseph 9 - both b Birmingham

Charles and Alice only married 1888 so Ernest and Joseph must be  from Charles first marriage.

Charles and Alice married in Stafford - not Warwickshire - but there is only one Ernest Barnes birth in Staffs - 1884 - and 1891 shows him with his parents

hi again
i know after they married they moved to birmingham,
joseph arthur was from his first marriage to ellen rouse which i can't find,
henry i found as you did then nothing els comes up on henry, so i think he eighther died or was sent abroad from a barnados home,
alice and charles died 1898 and 1899. joseph arthur i have most of his history as he was my grandfather, but the others seem to be a bit shy.
thanks for your help really appreciated
