***COMPLETED****CHEWINGS marriage in 1894
« on: Friday 07 November 08 16:58 GMT (UK) »
My relative Lydia BEACHAM's son David Alfred CHEWINGS, born 1867 Bridgwater North Petherton Somerset married a girl named Margaret in Neath (BMD Oct-Dec quarter, 11a 1251).  The BMD listing does not give Margaret's last name.  I think it may be JONES, RICHARDS or THOMAS, from a search of the Wales 1891 census.  Margaret was born around 1876 in Cymmer, Glamorgan.

I'm trying to find Margaret's last name (without buying the BMD).  Bonus points for records of any children.

Here they are in 1901 Wales census:
 Glyncorrwg
   Abergwynfi
    Neath
 Ystradvellte
David Chewings    34 collier hewer
Margaret Chewings 25

Thank you

Charles Beacham

Hi Charles,

Looking at the actual image, I think the correct page reference is 1254 instead of 1251 (can't say the image is very good)

On the same page, there's a Maggie Williams ...

Thank you.  I agree image is faint and page 1251 is probably page 1254.  Looking up 1881 & 1891 Wales census shows two Glamorgan Maggie Williams.  I believe I will buy BMD cert. to sort out these two.
(marriage date was 1894)
