Did you ever get to the bottom of this..

Also I see you said you had info on the Parteen Hartigans??

I ask because I also stem from this family and actually still live not far from Parteen. Apparently much
of the family records were lost in a fire but being honest I haven't researched too far into this but  I plan to do so in the future.

I stumbled across this page randomly while looking at the history of parteen and it's houses/buildings for my history society in college.

Anyways, any info you have I would would be most grateful for.

Hi. I can't help with Thomas Hartigan but in the replies you've received Thomas & Martin seem linked and I have a tree set up in Ancestry.co tracking Martin Hartigan in Southland, NZ (Married to Agnes Highton).  His lineage forward to current day is:  Martin had James (Jim), Sabina (Syb) & William (Max).  I'm Max's son born in NZ now living in Vancouver Canada.  My tree goes back further with Agnes Highton but I have nothing earlier than Martin who died in 1956.

I have found a connection with a Thomas & Michael Hartigan arriving in NZ on the OTAKI in 1876 but these brothers are from Tipperary, both have wives and families and go to Canterbury  altho they move later
Can you help with more info please

Hartigans of Dunnstown, Victoria

The grave inscription for a Martin Hartigan buried in Ballarat, Victoria records that he died 16 Dec 1906, aged 63; Native of Bridgetown, Co. Clare. His wife Mary Maloney was a Native of Limerick (1845-1920 Dunnstown).

This may help in discussion.
