As you now seem to know that Amy's father was a William GREEN, farm labourer, it would definitely be worth purchasing that 1902 certificate for an unnamed female GREEN (mentioned in my previous posting)!

No sign of a birth registration for a Norah GREEN in Oxfordshire (any date).

Possible marriage of Amy's parents on FreeBMD:

Jun 1896
William GREEN
Banbury
3a 1690

(possible spouses are Elizabeth TIMMS and Margaret WOODFIELD)

If you already have Amy and John's marriage certificate, then I doubt that the parish register entry will show any additional information.

If ordering the birth certificate for the unnamed female in 1902, you can use the father's name as a reference checking device.  If it turns out that the baby girl had a different father, then it will only cost you £3.00 (instead of £7.00 for a - possibly - incorrect certificate).

Presuming that the certificate is the correct one, it would also give mother's maiden name and from there we could have a look for a marriage for them!

If you order certificates from the local office rather than the GRO they do not usually charge for checking details and will return all your money if it is the wrong one.     Still costs £7.   Cheques to "Superintendant Registrar" or whatever it says on their website.  All saves a few pennies....

Hi All -

Beatles can I suggest that you put anything relevent that you find on here rather than a private E-mail (unless it involves living people)  otherwise we won't know what has been checked and found to have ideas where to look next.

>:( St Johns R.C. Church is the only church that keeps their record in the church.
I will ask the family history fella where i could ask about the marriage of Amy's parents and Amy's birth.
I looked through 9 PR St. Mary's methodist Presbyterian etc. the only William Green I could see was in 1896 a witness at a Margret  Ellen maria Green's marriage.her father was also a William green.i guess the William witness was her brother.
1909 Elizabeth not a William listed  as father, mislaid parents but when i find them will let you know if you wish.
sorry i couldn't be of any help.if i find any thing i will post you.
