Just a thought, my Aunty was born in Long Eaton on 30 Dec 1911. Her name was Eleanor Betsy. You mention Walters grandmother in 1881 as Eleanor Spiers, maybe my aunt was named after her.

According to my research Walter's grandmother and mother were both called Eleanor - but Eleanor Spicer - sometimes transcribed as Spiers - and forname sometimes transcribed as Ellen!!!

Maybe Dawn will confirm -or have another opinion??

Here is the information found -as mentioned by PM

Firstly - Tony had an Eleanor betsy b 1911 who was an aunt - and I think your thoughts are correct -she ws most probably named after Walter kent's mother (and grandmother) Eleanor - who sometimes used the name Ellen.

Hi Suz
You have been busy.   I am finding it quite hard to take it all in                                                       Sent some info and photos to Tony, he had never seen any family pictures.  One of Walter and Laura with Reg, Syd, Mary and my Dad Derek, unfortunately it is the only one I think we have with Reg in it,but its better than nothing.
My brother  Peter has a load of old photos on Face Book so I have given Tony his phone number in Perth.
Tony said that you have worked so hard sorting things out for him.

 I don't know if you want this info.   Grandma and Grandad Kent sold Glen Roy, Park Ave, Mansfield and moved down to  Bromley, Kent to live with us around late forties . Grandma Laura died around about 1948, Grandad Walter died in Tenterden Kent around 1954 age I think 94.
